Description

Paper strips can be difficult to interpret in opaque or coloured creams, because the result depends on visual colour matching and the sample itself can affect the strip. Standard bulb probes can also be harder to use on thick, semi-solid samples.

Many active ingredients and preservative systems have a recommended pH range, so checking a batch before filling gives you a chance to make any necessary adjustment earlier in the process.

This meter is intended for formulation and routine batch checks. A pH reading on its own does not establish preservative efficacy, microbial safety or stability — those are separate tests.

Mobile App Control & Data Sharing

Connect your pH meter via Bluetooth to the mobile app for seamless data tracking, automatic storage, and easy export to Excel or PDF. No more losing test results on paper—this smart integration helps formulators, labs, and DIY beauty creators monitor long-term stability with confidence.

High Sensitivity Probe

The corrosion-resistant high-sensitivity probe delivers stable and fast readings even in thick creams, gels, and oil-based products. Unlike standard probes that fail in complex cosmetics, this durable design ensures consistent performance, solving the frustration of inaccurate tests in emulsions and rich formulations.

Wide pH Range for Food and Health Testing

With a full 0.00–14.00 pH measurement range, in addition to testing skin care products, this digital tester lets you quickly check the acidity or alkalinity of everyday foods, drinks, and ingredients. Whether you’re monitoring balanced nutrition, testing homemade recipes, or ensuring product safety, it provides fast, accurate readings that eliminate the guesswork of traditional test strips.

Q & A

Does a correct pH mean my product is safe?

No. pH is one input. Preservative efficacy, microbial testing and stability testing are separate.

Can this pH meter handle thick creams, lotions or emulsions?

Yes — thanks to the high-sensitivity probe design, this meter maintains stable readings even in viscous formulas. Compared to ordinary probes that fail in creams, yours delivers fast, accurate results in gels, emulsions, or lotions without getting clogged or erratic.

What is the ideal pH range for cosmetic / skincare products?

Most water-based cosmetics aim for a slightly acidic pH, typically between 4.5 and 5.5, to match the skin’s natural acidity and reduce irritation. Using your meter, formulators can confirm this range and adjust accordingly to ensure compatibility and performance.

Do I need to dilute products before testing their pH?

For most creams, lotions, and gels, no dilution is necessary — the probe can be inserted directly. For extremely thick or solid products, a small dilution with distilled water may help ensure full contact, but that may slightly affect the reading. Your meter’s strong probe and stable reading capability reduce the need for dilution in typical cosmetic formulations.

How often should I calibrate the meter when testing cosmetics?

For reliable accuracy, calibrate before each measurement session, and re-calibrate if switching between very different pH ranges (e.g. from acidic serum to alkaline cleanser). You can use 2 or 3 buffer points. This ensures accuracy across cosmetic batches.

Why does pH matter in cosmetics — what risks if pH is wrong?

pH affects product stability, preservative efficacy, and skin compatibility. If too alkaline, it may damage the skin barrier; if too acidic, it may destabilize actives or preservatives. Your meter helps detect deviations early so you can adjust before product failure or irritation occurs.

Can this meter comply with regulatory pH testing methods for cosmetics (e.g. W/O types)?

Yes. With a wide 0.00–14.00 pH range and replaceable electrode, the meter is suitable for water-in-oil (W/O) and oil-in-water (O/W) cosmetic systems. Some regions now require pH testing for W/O formulations — your device is fully capable for both R&D labs and compliance checks.
